Let us probe the silent places, let us seek what luck betide us;
Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There's a whisper on the night-wind, there's a star agleam to guide us,
And the Wild is calling, calling . . . let us go.

Intga River Rest Day

Take a well-deserved day off to give our legs and backs a rest. Extensive fishing of the Intga. No one catches anything. We are convinced there are not grayling in this part of the river. Pack the food from the cache into our bear vaults – very pleased that it all fits. What to do with the empty plastic tote box? Oh, it'll burn!! It burns better than the left-over MaryJane Pueblo Stew. We finally realize the extra fuel canisters are missing so we start cooking over an open fire – that really slows us down and we all agree it’s a good thing. Sandy continues the poetry reading with "My Friends" and "The Ballad of Hard-Luck Henry".
