Let us probe the silent places, let us seek what luck betide us;
Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There's a whisper on the night-wind, there's a star agleam to guide us,
And the Wild is calling, calling . . . let us go.

McMillan Pass to McMillan Airstrip

Morning of our last stretch of hiking. It's a non-trivial, though not exactly brutal, final push. Get some rain which forces us into our rain suits while we are hiking, perhaps for the first time this trip, but other than that, we arrive at the MacMillan Airstrip in good shape and time. Good campsite by the South MacMillan river, but no good water anywhere. We filter the water in Sekie Creek only to discover it's not potable (there's even a sign to that effect which we'll discover tomorrow) and the South MacMillan is almost as bad, though we use it for dinner and water through the night. Final night for a couple of Robert Service poems read by both Steve and Sandy. Set-up an exemplary tarp shelter – ready to stay for a week if necessary.
